Abstract

Vertigo is a condition where a person has the sensation of movement or objects spinning around, even though the per-son is still. In children, the recognition of vertigo can be difficult due to the child’s age. In this article, we report a case of a 4-year-old boy who was hospitalised due to the first occurrence of nephrotic syndrome while recovering from COVID-19 infection. We concluded that he suffered from idiopathic nephrotic syndrome since he entered remission on the 15th day of steroid treatment. Soon after he was discharged home, he experienced acute vertigo and was readmitted to hospital. Several differential diagnostic possibilities, including serious ones, were excluded. Vertigo disappeared spontaneously in time, therefore we concluded that it was probably due to recovering from COVID-19 infection.
