Abstract

A child with Brugada syndrome that clinically presented with characteristic electrocardiographic changes and syncope during fever is presented. The syndrome is associated with an increased risk for ventricular tachyarrhythmia and sudden cardiac death in young adults. In children, it is rare however the most frequent clinical presentation is syncope and/or sudden cardiac death during fever. The only effective treatment which reduces the risk of sudden cardiac death in Brugada syndrome is the implantation of a cardioverter defibrillator.
